Once a Plagirizer Always a Plagirizer:
The 2020 presidential election won't be Biden's first time at the rodeo.
Biden ran for the 1988 Democratic Presidential Nomination. He declared his campaign on June 9, 1987, in an attempt at becoming the youngest president since JFK. He was seen as a strong candidate due to his moderate views, appeal to Baby Boomers, and high position as the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee in the upcoming Supreme Court Nomination Hearings. He also managed to fundraise $1.7 million in the first quarter of 1987, more than any other candidate.
Despite showing signs of being a formidable candidate he was accused of plagiarising a speech by Neil Kinnock, the leader of the British Labour Party. Biden had cited Kinnock as a source on earlier occasions but did not do so in the Aug 23 Democratic debate at the Iowa State Fair where the incident was reported. In other locations, he also used phrases from other speeches such as JFK's inaugural address. Then his law school, plagiarism came to light. That combined with the Kinnock incident became amplified by media news coverage.
He then discovered that he had two life-threatening brain aneurysms after suffering from severe headaches.
He soon dropped out of the race in 1988 but returned to Congress after a seven-month post-surgery recovery period.

Vice Presidency:
Once again 20 years later, Biden decided to run for president in 2007. He dropped out after receiving less than one percent of votes in the Iowa Caucus.
Later on in the election, Barack Obama chose Biden as his running mate after becoming the Democratic nominee.

Although he didn't play a very hands-on role during his first term as Vice President, he showed his influence during his 2nd term in which he helped reach Bipartisan agreements on tax increases and spending cuts. He was also played an important role in national debates concerning gun control after a shooting at a Newton, Connecticut elementary school
Family Life/ Tragedies:
Family Life/ Tragedies:
Following Biden's election as senator in 1972 his family suffered a car accident just a week before Christmas. The accident resulted in the death of his wife and 13-month old daughter, and severely injured both of his sons. He stayed by his sons' side the entire time and performed his swearing-in at the hospital. This moment of despair led Biden to consider suicide, but through the support of his family, he decided to honor his adherence to the people of Delaware.
In May of 2015, Biden's son Beau died at age 46 after being diagnosed with brain cancer. Biden considered running for the 2016 Democratic Nomination, but following his son's death, he later announced in October of 2015 that he would not be running.
